The UK’s first socially distanced music venue set to open in the North East this August - this is how it will look

The people behind the North East’s large outdoor music event, This Is Tomorrow Festival, have revealed they will launch the UK’s first socially distanced music venue this summer.
The Virgin Money Unity Arena will open in August at Newcastle Racecourse, Gosforth Park and will remain in place until the end of the summer.

Hide AdIt is hoped the the arena will breathe new life into entertainment industry, which has been hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The line-up of acts is set to be announced on Tuesday, July 7 – with a variety of household names set to perform.
Event bosses have also confirmed there will also be a limited number of free tickets for NHS workers for each performance.

“We’re looking forward to partnering with The Unity Arena on this event near to our Virgin Money home in Gosforth.”
The arena will protect the health and safety of those attending by a drive-in system, which will allow people from the same household to arrive at the venue, park and enjoy from their own personal viewing platform.
